Apprenticeship Application Requirements:
- Language & Eligibility:
- Fluent in English.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Physical & Logistical Ability:
- Physically and mentally able to safely perform essential functions of the job.
- Able to commute within the program’s geographical area.
- Able and willing to attend all related classroom training as required to complete their apprenticeship.
- Able to climb and work from ladders, poles and towers of various heights.
- Able to crawl and work in confined spaces such as attics, manholes and crawlspaces.
- Able to read, hear and understand instructions and warnings in English.
- Age & Education:
- Minimum age of 17 ½ at time of application, 18 years of age at time of selection.
- High school diploma or GED, or a two-year associate degree or higher.
- One year of high school algebra or equivalent post-secondary algebra course with a passing grade.
- Documentation:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Social Security card.
- Official high school and post-secondary transcripts.
- GED records, if applicable.
- DD-214 for military veterans.

- Apply online at the OUTREACH.ETIEDU.org TradeSchool website.
- Click on TRADESCHOOL Login button.
- Create an account, Allow 1 WEEK for account verification.
- Complete all required fields and upload required documents:
- driver’s license
- Social Security card
- DD-214 if applicable.
- Official High School transcripts- Mail-in (ONLY OFFICIAL, SEALED TRANSCRIPTS WILL BE ACCEPTED) or electronic from a third party (such as Parchment or Scribble)
- If your documents are in a language other than English, have them translated and notarized.
- Once you complete the application process, you will receive confirmation that your application is complete (Please allow 7-10 Business Days).

Aptitude Test – When the application deadline is closed, qualified applicants will be notified about the date, time and place to report to for an aptitude examination. The test battery covers reading comprehension and math. The aptitude test is a pass/fail test proctored, by a third party, at the ETI facility. *Applicants must attain a passing minimum score of 4 or above
Interview - If a qualified applicant passes the aptitude test, they will be notified and scheduled for the
upcoming interviews. You will receive a score that determines your place in the Pool of Eligible applicants (POE).
Orientation - Applicants offered a spot in the apprenticeship and selected for employment must be at least 18 years old and will be subject to a drug screening prior to acceptance.

- It is a 5-year systematic program of learning. Apprentices can obtain all the necessary knowledge and skills to become a Journeyman Inside Wireman.
- 8000 Hours of On-The-Job Training. Apprentices train to proficiency in all skills required to install, maintain, and troubleshoot various systems associated with electrical installations.
- 1000 Hours of Related Supplemental instruction(minimum) – Apprentices will study theories relating to all job tasks important to the trade. Classroom, hands-on lab, and online training help to reinforce skills learned while doing on-the-job training.
Inside Wireman, among other things, install and maintain all electrical conduits, wires, cables, motor controls and panelboards found in commercial and industrial facilities.

- The Sound & Communication Apprenticeship is a 3-year systematic program of learning. Apprentices can obtain all the necessary knowledge and skills to become a Telecommunications Installer/Technician.
- The program requires 6000 Hours of On-The-Job Training. Apprentices train to proficiency in all skills necessary to install, maintain and troubleshoot various systems associated with voice, data and video.
- The program also requires 480 Hours of Related Supplemental instruction (minimum). Apprentices will study theories relating to all job tasks necessary to the trade. Classroom, hands-on lab and online training help to reinforce skills learned while doing on-the-job training.
Telecommunications Installers/Technicians work in new and existing construction environments. They install cabling and equipment for Telephone, Computer Networks, Video Distribution, Security and Access Control, Audio/Video, Fire/Life Safety Systems and other low voltage systems.

An official transcript is a document from your school showing your grades, courses, and academic record. It's marked with a seal or stamp, proving it’s authentic. It must be sent directly from the school to us, or sent to you and you send it to us. The envelope must be sealed and unopened.
DO NOT open the envelope, you may either bring it to our office or mail it to our office.
Aptitude tests are scheduled as needed and subject to change.

If you receive an Invite and have already taken the Aptitude Test within the last 2 years, please notify our office so we can obtain your score. If your score qualifies for our JATC, you will be moved to the next step of the application process: Oral Interview

After one (1) year from the date of initial interview with the JATC, you need to have gained at least 1,000 hours of work experience in the electrical construction industry, or successfully completed two or more post-secondary, trade related classes, you may be re-interviewed by the JATC. You must submit documentation and fill out an Applicant Re-Interview Request Form
Your interview score determines your place in the Pool of Eligible applicants (POE).
Your score will be valid for up to two (2) years. Please keep in mind all ranked applicants may not be selected, and selections and not always made immediately following the interview. Very often, several months may pass before actual selections are made.
Upon selection, you will be contacted by email and the phone number we have on file. Please keep your information up to date with ETI.
If accepted, you will receive a date and time to come to ETI and go through Orientation. Once the orientation packet is filled out you will be sent to a drug screen.
Unfortunately, your application will be closed as orientation is required on the day/time we provide. We would move forward with the next candidate on the rank list.
There are no tuition or registration fees; however, you will be required to purchase your own hand tools in accordance with the provided tool list.
The needs of the electrical construction industry drives applicant selection. Therefore, registration dates for new Apprentices vary.
